Honorable Mentions

As this is the beginning of my year in review series, I want to point out that I read more books written by Black men and women as well as other POC than I have any other year in my lief. A lot of that is due to the amazing Black women bloggers I began following, who exposed me to different types of books. As Black authors and other POC do not receive the same marketing as White authors it is very easy to miss books especially when you don’t even think about it.

I have been extremely blessed to connect with amazing people and I look forward to all that we can do together.

Stay tune for the continuation of this series!

  3. I must admit, I haven’t read many of these books but seeing how much you love them and regard them highly totally makes me want to read them too. It’s so great that you read more books by Black authors and other POC authors last year as well, it’s definitely something I consider when choosing what to read and it’s so important to give these writers and stories the support and hype they deserve. As a woman of colour myself, it’s amazing to be a part of the bookish community and like you, I love learning about new titles and getting inspired by the amazing Black bloggers and other WOC in the community. Will definitely be adding these to my TBR, thank you for sharing x

    • Thank you for reading! And I completely agree with you. Making a concious effort to read more books by POC authors makes a huge difference in the interactions with the community and the overall reading experience:)
